BRCA.  MIDLANDS  WEST  REGION  -  1/10th Off-Road

RULES  &  INFORMATION  - 2007

The 2005 Midlands West Regional Series will consist of five 2WD and five 4WD events. The Series will be used to establish Regional Champions in each class and to decide which drivers have qualified for the End of Season Finals
These events are BRCA sanctioned, and as such will run to BRCA Rules.  Only BRCA members will score points towards the Series.  For insurance purposes, clubs must insist that all entrants are BRCA members. 

For championship purposes, there will be four age groups:-        Under 13 on 1/1/2007
Under 16on 1/1/2007    Senior (16 or over) on 1/1/2006
 Veteran (40 & over) on 1/1/2007
Entry

Single Entry fee is £6.00 at each event, or £5.00 per. class for two or more classes by a driver at any event.
Two or more persons entered (en block) from the same family at any event, entry fee is reduced to £5.00 for Under 16’s only.

Late Entries: Entries received after 08:30pm on the Monday evening prior to any event, will be seeded in the first heat(s) and will not be allowed practice. Late entries are at the organiser’s discretion, there is no guarantee they will be accepted.

Completed entry forms, (available on the Regional website) should be sent to the event secretary, accompanied by the appropriate fee and an SAE for confirmation.
Points Scoring

At each event, points will be awarded to decide Regional Champions and qualification for End of Season Finals.
Only BRCA members can score points.
Points at each event will be based on 100 points for TQ, plus 100 points for ‘A’ final winner, reducing by 1 point for each position below.  (e.g. Pole in the ‘C’, finishing 5th. in the Final, scores 80+76=156).
In 2WD & 4WD, the best three scores from five events will count.

Trophies
For the designated class at each event, trophies will be awarded to:- TQ, Winner of each Final, Top three Under 13 drivers and Top three Under 16 drivers.  The Under 13 and Under 16 trophies will be based on qualifying positions and presented prior to the first ‘A’ Final.
At the end of the Series, Regional trophies will be awarded to:- Top three in each of the four age groups and the top three overall for 2WD & 4WD.

BRCA Rules
The BRCA Rules governing 1/10th. Off-Road events are listed in the 2005 BRCA Handbook.  Some rules allow Regional variations which are confirmed as:-

3.10.3       As stated..  Nominated tyres are detailed on the Regional Calendar.  Tyre restrictions only apply to 2 & 4WD Buggies.
4.1          Brushless motors will not be allowed for points scoring entries.  All brushed motors listed by the EB are allowed.
5.2               As stated.  27MHz – Blue is not recommended.
10.6            As stated.

10.16        The designated Class at each event will have three leg ‘A’ Finals.
10.17        The basis of this rule will be used for ‘seeding’ at Regional events.  The current top sixteen drivers in the championship will be spread over the top two heats.  The remaining places in these two heats, and the other heats, will be decided on licence formula.  Within licence formula, the Series position will be considered.  For the first event of the series in each class, the previous year championship positions will be used to decide the top sixteen.
10.18        Reminder.  If a substitute marshal is used, for insurance purposes he/she must be a BRCA member.
11.1            Points will be awarded as detailed above.
11.4            ‘A’ Final winner and deciding ‘ties’ will be as stated.  The points system used may differ from what is stated.

13.2        No fee will be required, but hopefully common sense will be used.

Reminder :- All Batteries and Motors must comply with Electric Board rules.  (Details on BRCA website).
Other points.
1.         There will be a minimum of one round of practice in heat order, for the designated class(s) at each event.
2.         Drivers do not leave the Rostrum until the race is declared finished.
3.         Marshals must not leave their post until relieved.  Doing so can be treated as failure to marshal.
4.         At events which take Nitro entries, the duration of heats and finals will be five minutes.
5.         Drivers who are not scoring points in the Mid. West Region, cannot be included in points scoring finals.
6.         Failure to provide proof of BRCA membership at any event, may result in disqualification from the event.
